NORTH RIDING ENDURO CLUB HEAD TO THE 2019 ISDE!

The North Riding Enduro Club (NREC) have successfully had a team accepted to ride in the world renowned International Six Days of Enduro (ISDE). The ISDE is the pinnacle of off-road enduro racing with amateur club teams like NREC being able to compete on the same stage as the best enduro riders in the world!

The Event

This year, the 94th edition of the ISDE is being held in the Algarve in Portugal and is takng place on the 11th - 16th November 2019. The gruelling event will have over 650 riders taking part covering over 1500km with riders being on the bike for potentially 7+ hours a day! The Event caters for trophy teams (top level/professional riders) and amateur club teams which are mad up of 3 riders. Only 14 club teams have been accepted from the UK so it is a great honour for the riders to represent their country at this world famous event.

The Team

The team consists of Vince Harker, 47 from Bedale, who brings the experience to the team. competing at high level in the UK for numerous years. Nathan Cooke, 21 from Harrogate, is a student studying civil engineering who is looking forward to taking on the challenge of the six days. Finally, Conor Scott, 24 from Chester-Le-Street, is a metal worker by day but is taking riding abilities to new heights in 2019 with some of his best results to date at the British Enduro Championship rounds.

Sponsorship

Sponsorship is something that is hard to secure but is greatly appreciated as it helps the team enormously. The ISDE is often a once in a lifetime opportunity for many riders and a chance to represent their country and fly the flag on a global stage. Now as you can imagine, there are some significant costs associated with this type of event and therefore any help at all is more than welcome and extremely appreciated. Social media also plays a significant role in the modern era which is one of the ways we plan to represent sponsors in the build up to the event. We are also looking at getting a team kit printed with any sponsor logos and also casual wear for all those supporting the riders at the event.
